The floods in Chile and Peru  was caused by an unusual cold front which moved across the Andes, bringing heavy rainfall to the region. The National Office of Emergency of the Interior Ministry (ONEMI) reported more that more than 29 000 people are affected, and preliminary figures show that more than 28 000 houses as been impacted , 10 000 of those has been completely destroyed or has severe damages.

The small coastal city of Chañaral was hardest hit by the floods and many residents are trying to cope with the loss of their homes and belongings. The rise of the river El Salado divided the village into two, devastating the area.

A new client at Transcom Concepcion

Transcom Concepcion continues its onshore expansion adding new customers in the local market. To illustrate this, we have recently introduced one of the leading companies in the Chilean retail market as a new client. This is one of the largest and most well-established companies in Latin America, conducting its business in different areas through various companies:  department stores, home improvement and construction, commercial finance companies, banks, travel, and insurances companies.

In late January, set on selling different types of personal insurance policies, we launched our first service for them, with 44 agents and three team leaders, and are now set to further grow the service with the incorporation of 15 employees during the month of March in order to sell a specific insurance coverage.

New service team

Our client was pleased with the first two weeks of successful sales performance. All this is thanks to the careful preparation of all involved parties, supported by the Product Specialist for quality and training issues, and the control of good selling practices. Moreover, the client is providing all the tools for effective development of new business, e.g. motivational activities, product trainings, and the development of business skills.

Today, we want to thank those who work on launching new projects. We are confident that if we keep on performing to our excellent trademark standards, we will continue to improve every day.

Successful outcome of sales marathon at Transcom Concepcion

At Transcom’s Concepcion site in Chile, we recently celebrated two months since our opening day. Today the site employs 60 sales agents, servicing a major telecom company. Our client offers TV, phone and Internet services and has a very competitive satellite TV offer.

In November, we organized a sales marathon to encourage and motivate our agents to achieve their best results ever. And they did!

We started the day with a team breakfast, followed by pause gymnastics. During the day, 20 people achieved our sales targets which resulted in a 30% increase of closures, compared to a normal day.

These great achievements are the results of good teamwork, including the recruiting and training staff, as well as the team leaders and business managers that prepare the information that help the agents in their sales argumentations.

We will keep on working with an expansive aim, with a commitment to Transom’s excellence, and focusing on innovation as a way to generate new businesses and satisfy our clients.

Chile is a country of contrasts. From the breathtaking mountains in Los Andes to the Atacama Desert, you can find an incredible variety of landscapes to enjoy. It is also a land of opportunities, a growing economy with one of the lowest unemployment rates in the world, only 6.2%. That is why a 70% unemployment rate among disabled Chileans is something to think and to act about.
