Care every day

”At first I was a bit hesitant to leave my beloved Matteo with strangers. However, as a single mother, I needed the help and I have never regretted taking this opportunity. Matteo has developed and learned a lot, he is happy to mingle with the other children and is becoming more and more responsible”, says Marjorie Furo.

Marjorie Furo is one of many employees in the Philippines that recognizes the value of the child care center. The Pasig site in Manila, where Marjorie works, was the first BPO in the Philippines to establish a 24/7 childcare center, where the employees can drop off their children while working. The center is managed by registered nurses and child psychologists.

The center was built in 2011 and to this day, the facility is the only one of its kind in the Philippines. The center was originally planned to be open for six months only, but the operations were eventually made permanent due to outstanding support from both the Transcom management and the employees. Due to its success, Transcom now has child care facilities in all of its sites in the Philippines.

“For employees to be able to give their best at work, their worries should be minimized. For parents, especially single mothers, child care is among the highest priorities, and this is the driving force behind the establishment of the Transcom child care program”, says Siva Subramaniam, Regional General Manager for English-speaking markets and Asia-Pacific.

Transcom Philippines’ Child Care center celebrates four years

Our Pasig site child care center recently celebrated its fourth anniversary with a simple mass and party for our children, their parents, and guests. As a treat to the kids, games were conducted by the childcare staff, even former childcare staff joined the celebrations and spent time with the children.

The celebration ended with the laughter of children and adults alike whose smiling faces are proof that it was indeed a night blessed with fun and enjoyment. And these won’t be possible without the continued support of the management and the beloved parents of our Transcom kids.

In addition, the Pasig site child care center recently featured in Smart Parenting Philippine’s list of 10 Companies Parents Would Love to Work For, highlighting additional parental benefits, these companies can make the start of the parenthood journey a little bit easier.

Established in 2011 at our Pasig site, the Childcare Center was originally planned to be open for six months only, the operations were eventually made permanent due to outstanding support from both the management and employees. This is a safe place to help our employees, especially for single parents, to look after their children during their shifts and fulfill their parental duties. To this day, our Childcare facilities are the only one of its kind inside a BPO in the Philippines.

Celebrating three years of providing quality childcare to our employees

The Transcom Child Care Center recently celebrated its third anniversary with a party for our children and their parents. The day care center was established to help our employees, especially single parents, by looking after their children while they work.

In accordance with the theme of “Family”, we invited one of our employees to share with the children the nature of their parents’ work during the “My Call Center Experience” presentation. The highlight of the event was a talent contest in which both the parents and their children participated.

Benefits of Day Care

As we celebrate three years of providing quality assistance and a child-friendly environment, we asked our married and single-parent employees to share how the Transcom Child Care Center has helped them through the years.

Sarahlyn Baliad used to bring her three kids to work since they don’t have a nanny. After being exposed to other kids, Sarahlyn’s kids met new friends and found the day care center to be an environment conducive to learning, quite different from the outside. “They learned how to value friendship”, she shared. This was the first time that she was able to bring her kids to work. She did this to help them understand what she is doing  for a living.

Christine Alvarez reminisces how “it tugs at the heartstrings to see how confident and vibrant these well-cared-for children have grown. They could have just been left at home fiddling with whatever technological gadget money can buy and not be as people-oriented as they are now. This can be attributed to how the Day Care Center partnered with us working parents in raising them.”

Originally planned to be open for six months only, the Child Care Center operations were eventually made permanent due to outstanding support from both the Management and employees. To this day, it is the only facility of its kind inside a BPO in the Philippines.
